Kokeshi are traditional Japanese dolls created more than 150 years ago and originating from the North of the archipelago. Originally, these Japanese wooden dolls were made by local craftsmen who worked with wood and sold as souvenirs to Japanese tourists who visited this region of Japan.
The wooden Kokeshi represent the desire to have a healthy child. These beautiful dolls can also be offered as a sign of friendship or love.
This kokeshi is 16 cm high and is handmade in Japan.
