Japanese Tenugui Pink Cherry
Japanese cotton tenugui with cherry blossom print
Handcrafted in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture, this tenugui is dyed using a traditional method called Nassen. Its cotton fabric is soft, light and highly absorbent. For centuries, the Japanese have used tenugui on a daily basis for drying, washing, transporting, wrapping and even decorating. This model makes a lovely decoration with its cherry blossom branch and Mount Fuji print.
Note: the tenugui is a strip of fine cotton fabric generally measuring 35 by 90 cm. It has no folds or hems, so it dries quickly. If the edges of your tenugui start to fray, cut any protruding threads with a pair of scissors.
